In a few days in Dubai, time flies really quickly, so you shouldn’t hang around too much. I recommend that you organize your week in Dubai before your arrival, because otherwise you will not be able to visit everything and especially schedule your activities. So what are you waiting for, let’s start with the guide which will help you to explore great things during travelling in Dubai.

So here is an overview of what you can do in Dubai in 2022, the must-see things to visit in Dubai that you absolutely must try during your stay.

1. Dubai fountains

It is a magical spectacle and above all free. The fountains are at the foot of the Burj Khalifa. Go there in the evening to see the show with sound and light .

On Arab music or on great Western successes like Con te Départo, the show is really nice. Here again, it is the biggest fountain show in the world with almost 85,000 liters of water.

You can attend this show several times a day, from Saturday to Thursday at 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every 30 minutes.

There is just Friday when the shows are staggered at 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

This is a free activity  to do in Dubai and you can take the opportunity to eat at one of the restaurants in the  Dubai Mall  after the show.

The show is interesting and you can get there at the same time as your Burj Khalifa visit, if you don’t have too much time on your trip.

We enjoyed the show and then for the meal (and cocktails) the Mango Tree has a lovely terrace overlooking The Walk.

If you want to experience this fountain show from a unique point of view, you can also do it on the occasion of a traditional boat ride on the Burj Lake, in a traditional boat.

2. What to do in Dubai? Skiing of course!

Don’t know what to do in Dubai in 2022? Why not a little skiing! Direction Mall of Emirates  for  Ski Dubai . Skiing on snow in the middle of the desert? No one dared dream of it, so they did! You can rent all the equipment on site, no need to bring your own skis, of course.

The ski slope is huge and it is located directly next to the Marina near the Burj-Al-Arab  in the  Mall of Emirates .

We must admit that it is rather crazy to ski in a place where temperatures exceed 45 ° in summer! But EVERYTHING is possible in Dubai, you will understand.

As in the mountains, you will even find a bar in the middle of the slope to have a drink or a coffee before setting off again. Beware of thermal shock when exiting!

Better to book according to the seasons because it is a fairly popular activity in Dubai.

3. Dubai Creek

The cove is one of the oldest areas in Dubai, so don’t hesitate to go there at sunset. Enjoy your crossing, the call to the mosque resounding and the sunset enveloping the city in a soft orange color. 1 dirham for the crossing  in abras, the traditional boat.

It’s really confusing, because this is not the “new Dubai”, here you are plunged years back for a moment. This arm of the sea divides the city in two, with the Deira district on one side   and the Bur Dubai district on the other  . You can notably discover the souk on the other side of the creek. In the evening, you can even take a particularly pleasant dinner cruise . It also has one of the  best vacation apartments for rent in Dubai located on the beaches that provide the most comfort to you with a beautiful panoramic view. I will tell you more about this activity later in this post.

It is a fun activity to discover at the same time as you visit old Dubai.

4. Visit the souks of Deira

On the other side of the cove, you can discover old Dubai, in a totally different universe from the great towers and skyscrapers of the new Dubai. While visiting Deira, you will see the traditional constructions of the old historic quarter when Dubai was just a small fishing port.

I advise you to opt for a guided tour of historic Dubai. If you take the tour on your own, you won’t always know exactly what you are looking at. It is much more interesting thanks to all the information that you will learn thanks to a guide.

It is a day trip and you will discover all the traditional and historic districts of the city.

You will be picked up directly from your hotel, which is very convenient.

There are different souks to visit. The most astonishing being the gold souk. There you will find many shops offering jewelry, rings and other gold necklaces. The showcases piled up with real mountains of gold are truly impressive to see.

The shops are filled with bracelets, necklaces, watches, gold, diamonds and various precious stones. We don’t have any idea where to turn.

Some believe that there is constantly over 10 tons of gold in this market, and despite this, the place is particularly safe! The souk is even more impressive at night .

Alternatively, you can also visit the Spice Souk or the  Perfume Souk , which are some of the most authentic places in the city. You will find small stalls on every street corner.

An inexpensive activity in Dubai, which can largely occupy you for half a day.

5. Dinner on the water on a boat

If you are having a good time and want to dine one night in Dubai, you can choose to dine on a boat  and see Dubai from the water, while enjoying an all- you-can-  eat buffet dinner (alcohol-free though, fine).

Quiet and pleasant moment, it is possible every day and the departure is at 5:00 p.m. for a return at 8:30 p.m.

You will have a magnificent view of the Burj Al Arab, but also of the Palm Jumeirah site.

For the price, it takes around 50$ per person, but with that you will have the dinner cruise on a magnificent yacht and an unlimited buffet and soft drinks.

6. Take a tour of Dubai in a panoramic bus

In Dubai, public transport is quite efficient, but for a city tour, the best way to quickly discover a large number of sites of interest is to take a scenic hop-on hop-off bus ticket.. Thanks to these unlimited tickets valid for 1, 2 or 7 days, you can take these buses at will, and settle in the air-conditioned cabin or on the open-air floor, and follow a circuit in the heart of the city and all the main areas of Dubai. This bus offers 3 different excursions, which last between 1:30 and 2:30. It goes through 35 stops which are all close to the city’s biggest attractions. During the trip, an English guide will give you a lot of explanation about these sites of interest, and you can also use an audio guide available in 12 languages.

7. Visit IMG Worlds of Adventure

Do you want to discover the largest indoor amusement park in the world? You guessed it, obviously this park is in Dubai…  IMG Worlds of Adventure is made up of 5 different great areas, each of which pays homage to some of the biggest movie studios like Columbia, Lionsgate and Dreamworks.
